Mothership

2013. video (color, sound), media player, screen or projector, 15 min loop. Edition of 3, 1AP. Music by Evan Samek.
Mothership is a journey through ethereal landscapes, combining ancient myths, speculative futurism, and popular culture. This immersive video installation oscillates between the subconscious and the hyperreal, where dreamlike imagery intersect with the stark realities of power dynamics and the pervasive influence of technology. Through sardonic wit and surreal imagery, the work examines the constructs of authority and opulence, juxtaposing motifs of grandeur with the banality of consumer culture. Looking at the complexities of the digital age, Mothership navigates the liminal space between utopia and dystopia.
